Dr. Michael Savitt

Dr. Michael Savitt
was born and raised in West Rogers Park and has spent most of his life in
the Chicago area. He received his M.D. degree at Rush Medical
College in Chicago and completed his internship at Columbus Hospital.
His ophthalmology residency was performed at the University of Pittsburgh
from 1988 to 1991. He returned to Chicago for a one-year fellowship
in the medical and surgical management of glaucoma at the University of
Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary. From 1992 through 1997, Dr. Savitt
was an Assistant Professor and Director of the Glaucoma Service at Loyola
University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois, and currently is an
Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Rush University and is director of
the Glaucoma Course. He received the Golden Apple Award for
outstanding clinical teaching of ophthalmology residents at Rush in 2001.
Dr. Savitt is a Board certified member and
Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology as well as a member of the
Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. He was
recently elected President of the Chicago Glaucoma Society by his
peers. He has published extensively regarding his clinical research
in the management of glaucoma.
Dr. Savitt specializes in the medical, laser
and surgical management of glaucoma. He looks forward to providing
you with expert care for glaucoma and related anterior segment
disorders.
